Hello, Happy Monday! Today I am sharing an autumnal twist on the recently released Into The Woods Stamp and Die set by Concord & 9th to show that it's not just for Christmas!
This is one of the easiest sets I have put together, yet the finished scene looks wonderfully detailed and eye catching. I started by die cutting the back panel and ink blending it with Distress Oxides in Dried Marigold and Shaded Lilac, then added the mountain die cut, complete with snow caps.
I die cut the trees from various shades of yellow, orange and red cardstock to capture that autumnal feel, then used the coordinating stamps in matching colours to add interest. I used the snowfall stamp on some of the trees instead of the polka dots to try and steer away from the Christmas vibe of the set.
I'm in love with the cute little cabin, so I die cut it in complementary shades of Aster, Lilac and Fig, complete with a vellum wisp of smoke.
I took the curvy 'Cosy Days Ahead' stamp from the set, but it didn't curve quite the way I wanted it to. Fortunately, that's easily remedied. Pop your stamp on an acrylic block or into a stamp positioner, then gently lift one end and curve it in the direction you want. Make it bend to your will! I then heat embossed it in white.
All that's left is to adhere the die cuts to the two bases, crease along the fold lines, and glue them to your card base. It really is that easy! I die cut an extra base in white and stuck it on the back to cover the tabs.
I'm looking forward to experimenting with this set in spring and summer too. I have lots of tiny flower dies that I can't wait to use to adorn the scene!
Have a lovely week!
